What is Tesla-Protect?

Tesla-Protect is a young brand specializing in custom-fit Pre-Cut Paint Protection Films (PPF) for Tesla vehicles, designed for do-it-yourself installation.

What does Tesla-Protect offer?

Tesla-Protect develops, manufactures, and sells custom-fit Pre-Cut Paint Protection Films for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. We also offer Protective Films for the interior and a selection of useful gadgets for your Tesla in our shop. Our product range is continually expanding.

Is it financially worthwhile to purchase Paint Protection Films?

Yes!
Professional installation typically costs several thousand euros due to labor costs.

If you're planning to sell your car or return it after leasing, the paint beneath the film will look as good as new.

What is Paint Protection Film (PPF)?

Paint Protection Film, also known as stone chip Protection Film, is a specialized Film designed to protect your Tesla from stone chips and scratches. Our Films are precisely cut and come with an installation guide and the necessary instalaltion tools, allowing you to easily apply them at home.

What do I need for installation?

All orders containing Paint Protection Films (PPF) are supplied with a spray bottle and a squeegee. For some Films, such as the bumper, a hair dryer or heat gun is required.

Can I install PPF at home?

Yes! The precise production of our Films ensures perfect self-installation. During installation, the outside temperature should be at least 20°C and there should be no wind so that no dust can get between the paint and the Film. Installation in a well-lit garage is recommended; there should be enough space around the car to handle the Films.

How do I install Paint Protection Films on my vehicle?

Tesla-Protect PPFs are cut to size and are supplied with installation instructions and the appropriate installation tools. Using the wet adhesive method, even beginners can apply the Films perfectly.

Can I use my Tesla immediately after installation?

We recommend that you allow the film to dry for at least 24 hours at a minimum of 20°C (ideally in a garage). Any liquid residue should dry completely so that the adhesive can develop its full adhesive strength. Depending on the environmental conditions, this phase can be a little shorter or significantly longer (particularly with window tinting films).

What do I need for the installation?

All Paint Protection Films are supplied with a spray bottle and a squeegee. A kitchen roll, dust-free cloths or microfiber cloth should also be on hand for installation. For some Films, such as the bumper, the use of a hair dryer or hot air dryer is recommended to better adjust the PPF. You do not need any other tools or knives.

Do I need to clean my Tesla before applying the film?

Yes, absolutely! It's best to go through a car wash before applying the film and thoroughly clean the relevant areas from insects, tar, or other stubborn particles. Just before applying the film, you should wipe off any fine dust with a microfiber cloth or lint-free paper towel.

What can I do if the film keeps lifting at the edges?

This usually happens when liquid residues have not completely dried. Even if the film appears dry, this lifting can still occur. Just stay calm and press the edges down again with the squeegee if necessary. Professionals let the liquid evaporate overnight and check or make minor adjustments the next morning. Use a heat gun to warm up the film and adhesive again to secure the edges.

Can I have the installation done by a professional car wrapper?

Most vehicle wrappers are open to using custom-fit films. It doesn't hurt to establish a price in advance.

How long does shipping take?

Approximately 1-4 days within the EU.
Orders are generally shipped the next business day. However, it may happen that some products are not pre-produced and thus not immediately ready for shipping. This can sometimes result in a delay of 1-2 days before shipping.

How long does the installation take?

It depends entirely on the type of film set, your experience, and your skills. Simple, small, and flat parts are logically faster to apply than the entire bumper. For example, you can expect around 10-30 minutes for the A-pillar, loading edge, or rear sill. However, you should always plan for extra time to let the film dry as well. This prevents dust from accumulating under any loose edges of the film while driving, which could reduce adhesion. Wrapping an entire bumper requires patience until the film adheres permanently. Each delivery comes with an installation guide.

How do I remove the film?

If you need to sell your vehicle or remove the film for another reason, it's quite simple.
Make sure the outside temperature is at least 20°C (possibly in a garage). The warmer, the better. Using a hairdryer or heat gun speeds up the process. Gently peel off the film. The removal should be easy. If it’s not, you need more heat.

What color are the paint protection films?

The paint protection films are fully transparent and are hardly noticeable on the vehicle.

Are there also matte/satin paint protection films?

Yes! Currently, we only offer these upon request. If you're interested, send us a message through our contact form. We will get back to you promptly with an offer. The price is slightly higher than the standard version. Please note that partial wrapping in matte on Tesla's standard colors doesn't look great. However, the matte film is perfect if you've already wrapped your Tesla in matte or satin with a colored film.
